ease at the cost of our home

convenience at the cost of purity

every corner we cut

every shortcut kills us

we stole fire from olympus

it warms our bodies and our souls

its smoke stings our eyes

dims and pollutes the clear blue sky

we robbed the graves of our ancestors

their remains fuel our industry

they blacken our lungs

begin our planet’s fever

we siphon the blood of the earth

it moves us, it gives us security

it chokes the gentle sea

drives humanity to the brink

of extinction

all for the sake

of ease

a note from the artist-
