Submissions

​

 

All are welcome to submit, but we especially seek experimental forms and work from marginalized voices. We publish two online issues per year. Beginning in 2026, we will also publish one print anthology per year.

​

Submission windows for ONLINE:

Fall/Winter Issue - August 1 - October 1

Spring/Summer Issue - February 1 - April 1

​

Anything submitted outside of these windows will not be considered.​

​

We accept:

  • Short Stories

  • Poetry

  • Creative Nonfiction

  • Craft Essays

  • Literary Criticism

  • Experimental/Hybrid Prose

  • Flash Fiction

  • Stand alone novel excerpts

  • Photography

  • Visual Art - Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, etc.

  • Film and Animation

  • Performance - Music, Dance, Theatre, etc.

Note: ALL visual work must be accompanied by an artist statement or description of at least 100 words.

Guidelines:

  • ​Maximum word count for fiction, nonfiction, craft essay, literary criticism, novel excerpts, and experimental prose is 6000 words. You may only submit one story/essay per reading period.

  • Submit up to three poems at a time

  • Submit up ten photographs at a time

  • Film, Animation, and Performance pieces should be under five minutes

Upon Publication: If your work is accepted and published you must wait a full year to submit again. For example, if you have a piece published in our Fall/Winter issue, you would not be eligible to submit to our Spring/Summer issue that year.

​

We accept simultaneous submissions. Just let us know if your work has been accepted elsewhere. â€‹You retain the rights to your own work upon publication.

Format - Writing Submissions:

We are not picky about font or spacing, however, please include:

  • Your Name in the header

  • Page Numbers in the top right corner

  • Attach files as a doc or docx

  • Name your files: Title of Piece - Your Name

​

Format - Visual Submissions:

  • jpg, jpeg, or png

  • Attach artist statement/description as a doc or docx file. Do not paste it in the body of the email.

  • Name your files: Your last name - title of piece​​​​​

How To Submit

Genre - Your Name

Note: Please use your name as you would like it published, so if you use a pseudonym use that in the subject.

Email Body:

Short cover letter. Introduce yourself, maybe give a sentence or two describing your submission.

A brief (under 200 words) third-person bio

Attachments:

Writing as a doc or docx

Images as a jpg, jpeg, or png

Any submissions not in accordance with these guidelines may not be considered.
